Portinatx is a holiday resort on the island of Ibiza in the municipality of Sant Joan de Labritja, and it’s the most northerly resort on the island. Portinatx is quite remote, which makes it a bit awkward to reach other parts of Ibiza. Even so, Portinatx is well regarded for its picture‑postcard scenery and is often considered by many to be the most beautiful resort on the island. Notable sights include the Punta Moscarter Lighthouse. Like most of Ibiza, the surrounding countryside is thickly forested, unlike the barer neighbouring islands of Mallorca and Menorca. The town sits under the shadow of sa Descoberta, a large wooded hill that rises to roughly 250 metres above sea level.
