Fernando de Noronha is an archipelago in Brazil and a UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site, declared a marine national park in 1988. This volcanic archipelago of 21 islands features a rugged landscape of towering rock formations, cascading waterfalls and natural swimming pools. Hidden beneath jagged cliffs and in sea caves are exquisite white-sand beaches. The waters around Fernando de Noronha are rich with colourful fish, dolphins, lobsters, turtles, sponges and corals, making it a favourite spot for diving and snorkelling.
